Democrats prevailed in all three contested races in Tuesday’s Telford Borough Council election, securing a 5-2 majority on the council.
Unofficial results from the Bucks and Montgomery County Boards of Elections showed Democratic incumbent John Taylor and Democratic newcomers Lauren Geitz and John William Ralston securing enough votes to be elected to the council. Additionally, Republican incumbent Robert Sparks was re-elected for a two-year term after running unopposed.
This year’s race featured seven candidates competing for four seats on the council, including Taylor, Geitz, Ralston and Sparks as well as Republican incumbent Bob Jacobus and Republican newcomers Lindsay Rossi and Teresa Rixon. Taylor, Geitz and Ralston ran as a team titled, “Telford Unity.”
Geitz topped the field with 881 votes, followed by Taylor with 867 and Ralston with 826. Rossi trailed with 688 votes, followed by Jacobus with 667 and Rixon with 666 votes. Sparks secured 567 votes.
Results will remain unofficial until certified by the Bucks and Montgomery County Boards of Elections.
