Central Bucks County voters produced a mixed but largely Democratic-leaning outcome in Tuesday’s municipal elections, with Democrats carrying key races in Chalfont, Warrington, Warminster, and Buckingham, while Republicans maintained control in Bedminster and Warwick.
Chalfont Borough
Democrat Sarbani Hazra was unofficially elected mayor with 964 votes (52.91%), defeating Brian Wallace, who received 852 (46.76%).
Democrats also claimed all four borough council seats, led by Kevin Flanagan (1,126; 17.37%), John R. Engel (1,114; 17.19%), Dan Colbert (1,112; 17.16%), and Kai Bode (1,051; 16.22%).
Republicans Michael Beebie, Jessica D. Briggs, and Kevin Lee finished behind, each drawing between 678 and 697 votes.
Dublin Borough
Republicans unofficially retained control in Dublin, where Christopher N. Hayes ran unopposed for mayor, earning 493 votes (94.63%).
Council results were closely divided: Democrats Marianna Leffever (380; 25.30%) and Jeanette Pasqua (367; 24.43%) edged ahead of Republicans Matthew S. Mayes (357; 23.77%) and Jeffrey J. Sharer (356; 23.70%).
Republican Tax Collector Susan Paff was re-elected with 520 votes (97.01%).
Warwick Township
Republican Robin Taber narrowly held the six-year supervisor seat with 2,975 votes (49.12%), defeating Robert Brodrecht (Democrat) with 2,745 (45.32%) and Brittany Kosin (Libertarian) with 337 (5.56%).
The result preserved Republican leadership in the township board.
Warrington Township
Democrats achieved a full sweep in Warrington.
Ruth E. Schemm was elected supervisor with 5,256 votes (54.52%), defeating Michele DeBlasio with 4,379 (45.43%).
In the tax collector race, Millie Seliga edged Republican Deborah “Deb” Dixon with 5,027 votes (52.03%) to 4,629 (47.91%).
Warminster Township
Democrats retained control of township leadership.
Mary Owens (6,705; 29.19%) and Ken Hayes (6,362; 27.69%) captured both six-year supervisor seats over Republicans Robert J. Guarini (5,310; 23.12%) and Vitaliy Velenchuk (4,584; 19.95%).
Tax Collector Nicole Rinier won re-election with 7,242 votes (60.02%), defeating Republican Eugene J. Lyall with 4,817 (39.93%).
Bedminster Township
Republicans held firm in Bedminster, where Glenn Wismer won the six-year supervisor seat with 1,779 votes (55.21%), defeating Donald W. Bradley (Democrat) with 1,440 (44.69%).
Plumstead Township
A close contest produced a near-even split.
Democrats Jennifer Moroney (2,844; 26.36%) and Ken Lichtenstein (2,696; 24.99%) narrowly edged Republicans Lurleen Worthington (2,631; 24.39%) and James McComb (2,614; 24.23%) for two open supervisor seats.
Tax Collector Sherry Bunch Labs, cross-filed on both party lines, was re-elected overwhelmingly with 4,802 votes (98.71%).
Buckingham Township
Democrat Michael Bateman unseated Paul Calderaio for a six-year supervisor term, earning 5,255 votes (53.57%) to Calderaio’s 4,552 (46.41%).
In a reversal, Calderaio’s Republican wife, Ann Calderaio, narrowly won tax collector with 5,039 votes (51.50%), defeating Democrat Jeff Crawford with 4,741 (48.46%).
Turnout in most municipalities ranged from 50 to 60 percent, underscoring strong public engagement in this off-year election cycle.
