Pennridge Democrats win 3 out of 4 seats on school board

Pennridge Democrats have won three out of four open seats on the Pennridge School Board.

Unofficial results from the Bucks County Board of Elections showed Democratic newcomers Carl Taylor, Thomas Trauger, Nathaniel Leffever as well as Republican newcomer Brian McMullen securing enough votes to be elected to the board.

In this year’s race, Taylor, Trauger, Leffever and Democratic newcomer Dan Bebernitz ran on the “Pennridge Community Alliance” team, while McMullen, former Republican board member Jonathan Russell and Republican newcomers Michael Bongiovanni and Daniel Mainieri ran on the “Pennridge for Excellence” team.

Taylor topped the field with 10,209 votes, followed by Trauger with 10,105, Leffever with 9,886 and McMullen with 9,820. Russell trailed with 9,768 votes, followed by Bebernitz with 9,683, Bongiovanni with 9,651 and Mainieri with 9,420.

The election marks the Democrats’ second consecutive victory in the Pennridge School District after sweeping the school board race in 2023. With Tuesday’s results, Democrats will hold an 8-1 majority on the board.

Results will remain unofficial until certified by the Bucks County Board of Elections.
