Democrats continued to dominate in Doylestown Borough and Township in Tuesday’s general election, securing victories in every major local race from mayor to township supervisor.

In Doylestown Borough, Mayor Noni West, who appeared on both Democratic and Republican lines, was re-elected with 3,413 votes (97.49%), facing only 88 write-in votes (2.51%).

The borough’s three wards all elected Democratic council members:

  • 1st Ward: Amy Taylor Popkin received 1,012 votes (54.03%), and Ben Bell earned 830 votes (44.31%).
  • 2nd Ward: Jack O’Brien tallied 1,230 votes (55.28%), while Dennis P. Livrone received 954 votes (42.88%).
  • 3rd Ward: Connor O’Hanlon led with 786 votes (56.26%), followed by Larry Browne with 579 votes (41.45%).

Tax Collector Michelle Crunkleton, cross-filed on both major party lines, was returned to office with 3,514 votes (98.87%).

Across the line in Doylestown Township, Democratic candidates again topped the ballot.

For two open supervisor seats, Christina Maida and Dan Wood won with 4,742 (30.49%) and 4,623 votes (29.72%), respectively.  Republicans Joseph Van Houten (3,143; 20.21%) and Colleen Brophy Brennan (3,043; 19.56%) trailed behind.

In the township’s tax collector race, Sara A. Frister edged Sarah Tomlinson by a narrow margin — 4,176 votes (51.58%) to 3,919 (48.41%) — continuing Democratic gains across the Central Bucks region.
