Quakertown voters delivered mixed results in Tuesday’s election, with Democrats gaining ground on the borough council and narrowly winning two of three contested seats on the Quakertown Community School Board.

In the borough council’s four-year races, Democrats David Wilsey and Mae Wear finished first and second with 1,402 (22.83%) and 1,324 votes (21.56%), respectively.

Republican Donald E. Rosenberger secured the third seat with 1,216 votes (19.80%), followed by GOP candidates Joanne Paulovitz (1,124; 18.31%) and Christopher LaBonge (1,030; 16.78%).

For the two-year term, Republican Tim Ritter ran largely unopposed, winning with 1,549 votes (93.37%).

In the Quakertown Community School District, Democrats and Republicans split the races.

In Region 1, Republican incumbents Todd Hippauf (2,463; 27.51%) and Democrat Rebecca Merola (2,258; 25.22%) edged out Republican Ronald Jackson (2,227; 24.87%) and Democrat Charles Shermer (2,001; 22.35%) for two four-year seats.

In Region 2, Democrat Amanda Hahn narrowly prevailed over Republican Geoff Williams by just seven votes — 2,030 (50.04%) to 2,023 (49.86%).

In Region 3, Democrat Roberta Rogers won with 1,873 votes (53.47%), defeating Mike Post with 1,625 (46.39%).

The tight margins reflected a highly engaged electorate and continued partisan balance across the Quakertown community.
