Democrats maintained their advantage on the Central Bucks School Board following Tuesday’s general election, unofficially capturing all contested seats in Regions 2 and 3 and solidifying control in one of the county’s most closely watched districts.
In Region 2, Amanda O’Connor defeated Andrew Miller with 10,231 votes (57.34%) to 7,610 votes (42.65%), according to unofficial returns.
The result continues Democratic representation in the Doylestown and Buckingham area, where board debates over curriculum and district culture have drawn national attention in recent years.
In Region 3, David Comalli secured a two-year term with 8,607 votes (56.05%), defeating Sharon Beck, who earned 6,740 votes (43.89%).
In the concurrent four-year Region 3 race, Democrats Katrina O. Filiatrault and Daniel Kimicata also prevailed, earning 8,494 votes (28.66%) and 8,135 votes (27.45%), respectively, over Republicans Elizabeth “Betty” Santoro (6,756 votes; 22.80%) and Roman Szewczuk (6,242 votes; 21.06%).
