Penn Community Bank, the largest independent mutual bank in eastern Pennsylvania, is proud to announce the launch of Operation Greater Good Food Drive, a community-wide effort running from November 5 through December 17 to address the growing issue of food insecurity across the region.
Developed and mobilized quickly in response to an immediate and heightened community need, the initiative reflects the bank’s ongoing commitment to supporting the Greater Good and uplifting local families during challenging times.
The initiative takes a three-pronged approach to making a meaningful impact:
1. Food Collection: All Penn Community Bank financial centers across Bucks, Montgomery, and Lehigh Counties will serve as collection sites for non-perishable food donations. Community members are encouraged to drop off shelf-stable items such as canned vegetables, soups, pasta, rice, and cereals.
2. Corporate Giving: Penn Community Bank is making a $10,000 contribution to the Bucks County Opportunity Council (BCOC), a leading agency addressing food insecurity throughout the region. The funds will help BCOC secure a bulk food order for distribution to local pantries and partner organizations.
3. Grocery Store Gift Cards: Working alongside regional food banks, Penn Community Bank will provide grocery store gift cards to support families with immediate needs. The initiative is strengthened through a partnership with Sagefrog Marketing Group, a Doylestown-based firm joining the effort to make additional grocery gift cards available.
“As a community mutual bank, our work goes far beyond the boardroom—it’s about showing up and supporting our neighbors, especially during times of greater need,” said Jeane M. Vidoni, President and CEO of Penn Community Bank. “Operation Greater Good Food Drive is another example of how we live out our mission.”
“For us, joining our community partners shoulder-to-shoulder in times of need is paramount,” added Bernard Tynes, Executive Vice President and Chief Consumer Banking Officer. “Through the Operation Greater Good Food Drive, we’re uniting our team members, customers, and partners to fill tables, strengthen families, and build the greater good this holiday season.”
These combined efforts are expected to support thousands of families and individuals throughout Penn Community Bank’s service area, reinforcing the bank’s longstanding commitment to the Greater Good Banking philosophy—empowering communities through compassion, collaboration, and collective impact.
