Police have identified three teenagers who were killed in a Halloween night crash on Bristol Road, as investigators continue to examine the circumstances of the violent collision that left a fourth teen critically injured.

Warrington Township Police said four boys were inside a Toyota Camry traveling eastbound on the 2600 block of Bristol Road around 9:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, when the driver lost control near a downward crest and struck an oncoming SUV. The driver of the SUV was not injured, authorities said.

According to police, the crash killed 16-year-old Kozyrev Artem, 15-year-old Elkhan Saparbekov, and 18-year-old Aziz Umidovich Amonov. All three were from the Neshaminy area. A 14-year-old boy, the sole survivor, remains in critical condition at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia following multiple surgeries.

Warrington Police Chief Daniel Friel told NBC10 that investigators believe Saparbekov was driving the Camry at the time.

“You have to be 16 and a half before you get your junior driver’s license, so it’s safe to say he was an unlicensed driver, unfortunately,” Friel said. “Very tragic. Very heartbreaking. And another term is unimaginable. I’ve been doing this for 25 years. That is one of the most serious crashes I have come across.”

Two of the teens, Amonov and Saparbekov, attended Neshaminy High School, where counselors and staff offered grief support Sunday and continued services Monday.

Amonov, a senior, was from Uzbekistan, while Saparbekov, a freshman, was from Kyrgyzstan, according to police and NBC10.

Amonov and Artem were buried Sunday; Saparbekov’s body will be returned to his native Kyrgyzstan for burial, per the report.

Friends and family held a memorial for Saparbekov on Sunday evening in Northeast Philadelphia.

“I witnessed firsthand the cries and the pain of their parents because I was there with them,” friend Umar Urkumbaev told NBC10. Urkumbaev’s 14-year-old cousin was the lone survivor.

The Bucks County Crash Team and Warrington Police are conducting a full reconstruction of the collision. A comprehensive crash report is expected at a later date, officials said.

Police said the crash occurred near the former Fox Subacute Center, on a section of Bristol Road with no shoulders and a 35 mph speed limit. Most of the Camry’s damage was concentrated on the passenger side in what investigators called a “side-angle” impact.

The Bucks County Coroner’s Office confirmed autopsies were conducted over the weekend, but has not yet released causes of death.

Community response and support

Two GoFundMe campaigns have been launched to assist with funeral expenses for the victims’ families. As of Sunday evening, the campaign for Saparbekov had raised more than $15,000, and the campaign for Artem had collected over $16,000 toward $20,000 goals.

The Neshaminy School District Counseling Center remains available at 215-809-6101 for students or families seeking additional support.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has information to contact Warrington Township Police Officer James Umile at 215-343-3311 ext. 220 or [email protected].
