Warrington Township Police confirmed Saturday morning that three teenagers died as a result of injuries suffered in a 2-car crash on Bristol Road Halloween night in Warrington.
Police said all the victims were occupants of the sedan involved in the crash.
A fourth teenager remains in extremely critical condition at a Philadelphia hospital, police said.
The driver of the SUV involved in the wreck was not injured.
Police said it was not a head-on collision, but a side-angle crash.
The most severe damage to the sedan was on the passenger side, police said. A very preliminary investigation based on scene evidence and witness accounts suggested that the sedan was traveling northbound on Bristol Road, while the SUV was westbound, police said.
As the driver of the sedan approached a downward crest in the narrow roadway, they lost control, causing the sedan to cross into the path of the SUV, police said.
Warrington Police and detectives have been working through the night to identify all of the individuals involved.
At this time, one person has not yet been positively identified, police said.
Additional information willl be released once next of kin have been notified.
"This is a heartbreaking and tragic situation," police said. "Our hearts and prayers are with the families and friends of those involved during this unimaginable time."
