A Warminster Township man was arrested this month on a warrant for failing to appear at his preliminary hearing on charges of supplying drugs that led to a Middletown Township woman’s overdose death last year.

Thomas Joseph Hall, of Warminster, had felony charges of drug delivery resulting in death, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, and criminal use of a communication facility, as well as misdemeanor involuntary manslaughter, recklessly endangering another person, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia held for Bucks County Common Pleas Court.

According to court records, Magisterial District Judge Daniel Baranoski remanded him to Bucks County Correctional Facility under 10% of $500,000 cash bail on Feb 5.

Then, on April 11, has bail was changed to nonmonetary/no bail. Hall is represented by Bensalem attorney Michael Parlow.

According to investigators, Middletown Township officers were called to a home on the 900 block of Poplar Street in Langhorne on June 4. The 911 caller reported his girlfriend Gisela Leair, 57, had died; upon arrival, paramedics and police found the victim in her bedroom deceased, police said.

Investigators seized items that included Leair’s cellphone, three clear plastic bottles that contained suspected methadone, two clear baggies and a bowl that contained multiple tablets, including lorazepam and oxycodone, authorities said.

The three bottles of methadone were prescribed to Hall and a warning label on the bottles advised, “may be fatal to adults,” according to investigators.

During the investigation, police learned that Hall attempted to enter Poplar Street home through a locked door and was confronted by Leair’s boyfriend, according to police. When the boyfriend told Hall that Leair had died, Hall responded, “I didn’t give her anything,” according to a criminal complaint.

An autopsy determined that Leair’s cause of death was drug intoxication with methadone, lorazepam and other drugs found in her system, per investigators.

An examination of the Leair’s phone found she allegedly had a conversation with Hall the day before she died. In the conversation, she allegedly asked for oxycodone or Percocet, and Hall reportedly offered her methadone.

In the conversation, authorities allege Hall agreed to meet her that night. Cellphone data records indicated that Hall was around Leair’s home on June 3 between 7:39 p.m. and 8 p.m., investigators said.

This case was investigated by the Middletown Township Police Department, led by Detective Jacob Gallagher, with assistance from the Bucks County Detectives and the Warrington Township Police Department. Deputy District Attorney Thomas C. Gannon is assigned for prosecution.

All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
