Joyful Noise Festival brings music and mission to Quakertown this June

The event, organized by St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Applebachsville, will benefit four area food pantries serving the Quakertown community

  • Things To Do

A full day of music, community, and compassion is on the horizon as the Joyful Noise Music Festival returns to Bucks County next month, bringing together local talent and charitable giving in a free, family-friendly event.

Set for Saturday, June 14, the festival will run from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Univest Performance Center, located at 501 W. Mill St. in Quakertown. Gates open at 10 a.m., and while admission is free, guests are encouraged to bring non-perishable food donations, which will benefit four area food pantries serving the Quakertown community.

The event, organized by St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Applebachsville, has grown into a biennial tradition, combining musical entertainment with a powerful mission: addressing food insecurity in the region, according to Lehigh Valley News. Since its debut in 2005, the festival has raised nearly $80,000 to support local food assistance programs.

This year’s lineup offers a wide mix of genres and performers, including Lehigh Valley favorites Craig Thatcher and On The Cusp, both of whom are also slated to appear at Bethlehem's Musikfest in August. From blues-infused pop to contemporary Christian music and classic rock, the stage will feature:

  • St. Paul’s Joyful Noise Band, opening the day with praise music at 11 a.m.
  • Denia Shanelle, a Christian singer-songwriter (11:50 a.m.)
  • Craig Thatcher, known for his skillful guitar work and local fanbase (12:55–1:55 p.m.)
  • On The Cusp, performing both original songs and covers (2:15 p.m.)
  • Bob Halligan Jr., a festival regular with national recognition (3:20 p.m.)
  • The 307, a Perkasie rock band composed of recent Pennridge-area graduates Garrett McKenzie, Michael Frentzen, and Jake Baringer (4:25 p.m.)
  • Laura Cheadle & The Girls, an all-woman group blending soul, pop, and rock (5:30 p.m.)

In addition to the music, the festival will feature a marketplace with food vendors, artisan crafts, and family activities including children’s crafts throughout the day. Lawn seating is first-come, first-served, and guests are advised to bring their own chairs.

There will also be raffle baskets. See the baskets here.

The church emphasizes that the event is more than just a concert—it is a response to the real and growing issue of hunger in Bucks County. With food costs on the rise and many families falling through the cracks of assistance programs, the need for community-driven support has never been greater.

Beneficiaries of this year’s event include the Quakertown Food Pantry, F.E.A.S.T., Saint Isidore’s Food Pantry, and Heaven’s Bounty.

The Joyful Noise Music Festival will take place rain or shine. For more details, visit the festival's official website.
