One half of a Burlington, New Jersey couple wanted for shoplifting more than $6,000 from the Warrington Ulta, twice, over a two-week period during the holiday season, had all but two charges held for Bucks County Common Pleas Court earlier this month.

Darryl Thomas Alexander, 64, was initially charged with four felony counts each of retail theft and receiving stolen property, but one receiving stolen property and associated conspiracy charge were withdrawn at a preliminary hearing.

Alexander turned himself in on a warrant in February. He remains jailed on 10% of $15,000 cash bail.

His alleged accomplice, Janesha Edith Pickett, 34, also of Burlington, was nabbed on a warrant in Atlantic County, New Jersey, in February, and arraigned in Bucks County court earlier this month. She heads to a pre-trial hearing May 13 on charges of felony retail theft and receiving stolen property, and associated conspiracy charges, by police, in two separate cases, according to court records.

One set of charges is for an alleged theft on Dec. 9, 2024 and the second for Pickett’s alleged second shoplifting spree on Dec. 23, per court documents.

Police responded to the 1561 N. Main St. beauty shop on both occasions for a reported theft in progress.

On Dec. 9, Pickett and Alexander allegedly concealed $3,412.91 worth of product and exited the store without paying. They left the scene prior to police arrival.

On Dec. 23, they were back again, this time allegedly concealing $3,083.74 worth of merchandise and exited the store again without paying.

Officers were able to identify Pickett and issued two warrants for her arrest, police said.

She was eventually arrested on Dec. 23 in Atlantic County, New Jersey, and transported back to Pennsylvania, where she was arraigned Jan. 29, according to authorities. Pickett remains at Bucks County jail on 10% of $20,000 cash bail.

All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
