Doylestown Township Police investigate an egg-centric retail theft as a man steals 10 dozen eggs in a handbasket

One alleged thief not only put all his eggs in one basket, he walked out all 120 of them too.

Doylestown Township Police announced in its February 2025 police blotter report that officers began investigating a report of a retail theft that occurred on Feb. 28 at Weis Market at 73 Old Dublin Pike.

Police said a man, whose name was not released and hometown unidentified, took a handbasket and 10 dozen eggs on that day.

The suspect was identified, and he is expected to turn himself in, police said.

All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
