For the third consecutive year, the Be Kind 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run will take place this spring, continuing its mission to support cancer patients in Bucks County.
The event is set for Saturday, April 5 at 10 a.m. at Holicong Park in Buckingham, where participants will follow a new route that starts at the park, heads down Holicong Road to Upper Mountain Road, and returns to the park. The Fun Run, however, will kick off first at 9:30 a.m.
The race, part of the Bucks 5K Series, invites runners and walkers of all levels to join in honoring, celebrating, and inspiring those affected by cancer.
Packet pickup is scheduled for April 4 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Kin Wellness Center. Race day pickup and registration is 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. day of race at Holicong Park.
Last year, the event attracted nearly 600 participants and raised more than $30,000 for the Kin Wellness and Support Center, which offers free services to cancer patients and caregivers.
This year, organizers are expecting even more participants.
Bucks 5K has partnered with Kin Wellness, with 100% of sponsorships and registration fees benefiting the center’s programs.
Chris Baccash, a Doylestown cancer survivor and community member, will serve as the official race ambassador, leading the 1-Mile Fun Run, acting as the pace bike for the 5K, and presenting awards to the race winners.
There will also be free food including bagels, cookies, smoothies, water, and bananas, as well as a supportive community atmosphere.
Early registrants for the race are guaranteed a race shirt, and sponsorship opportunities are still available for local businesses interested in supporting the cause.
The Be Kind 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run is part of the Bucks 5K Series, which is celebrating its 29th season of hosting races throughout Bucks County.
