Doylestown Police now accepting applications for full-time police officer

The deadline to apply online and submit a resume and cover letter is March 14.

Doylestown Township Police Department – headed by Chief Charles Zeigler and consisting of 23 full-time officers – is accepting applications from interested, qualified candidates for the position of police officer.

Candidates must be currently Act 120 certified or currently enrolled to become certified. Application, resume and a cover letter can be submitted to the department through Police App at this link.

The deadline is March 14.

Doylestown Police has one lieutenant, four patrol sergeants, one detective corporal, two detectives, 14 patrol officers, and three civilian employees.

The agency provides around-the-clock public safety coverage for residents, businesses and visitors of Doylestown Township, about 16 square miles with more than 17,000 people.

Minimum requirements are as follows:

  • Must be a United States Citizen
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Must possess a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license
  • Must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalency
  • Must be currently an ACT 120 certified police officer or currently enrolled in a police academy
