Elderly couple injured, transported in 2-vehicle crash on York Road Saturday afternoon

The accident occurred around 2:45 p.m., and investigators remained on scene through 5:30 p.m.

An elderly couple, who were occupants in a vehicle involved in a two-car crash at Sugar Bottom and York roads in Warwick Township, were transported to an area hospital by Central Bucks EMS, due to injuries suffered in the Saturday afternoon collision.

Authorities said one vehicle was traveling northbound on York Road, when it attempted a left turn onto Sugar Bottom Road. A vehicle traveling southbound on York struck the turning vehicle, per reports from the scene.

The accident occurred around 2:45 p.m., and investigators remained on scene through 5:30 p.m.

The intersection has been reduced to one lane. 

Two vehicles were towed from the scene.

An accident reconstruction team is on scene. 

Warwick Township Police, Warwick Fire Co., Warwick Fire Police, Doylestown Fire Co., and Lingohocken Fire Co. assisted at the scene.
