A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a Pipersville woman who failed to appear at arraignment this month in Bucks County Common Pleas Court on a felony theft of services charge stemming from a Doylestown Borough arrest.
Kimberly Anne Reese, 57, of the 4800 block of Woodspring Drive, Plumstead Township, is free on $5,000 unsecured bail after arraignment in April. She failed to appear at her May preliminary hearing as well, according to court documents.
Reese was charged in April by Central Bucks Regional Police for failing to pay more than $3,000 for car repairs, according to an affidavit.
On April 4, 2025, police were called to Trans Shop at 300 S. Main St. at 1:04 p.m. by Reese regarding a civil dispute, according to the affidavit.
Upon arrival, police spoke with Reese, who told them she came to Trans Shop on March 3, 2025 for a transmission issue on her car. Reese told police her car was repaired and they charged her $3,700, per the complaint.
Reese said she never requested the work to be performed on her car and Trans Shop management was holding her vehicle as collateral until she paid, according to the affidavit. She told police Trans Shop could not do that without a mechanic’s lien and that her attorney was involved, thus police had to get her vehicle back, according to the complaint.
Trans Shop management told police that Reese authorized the service repair and she had not paid them for the service, even though she kept saying she would, authorities allege. Reese’s attorney and Trans Shop spoke via phone to work out the situation, and both agreed Reese would pay $2,500 and get a title loan to pay Trans Shop, police said.
Reese would be able to then get her vehicle on April 5, 2025, and she would pay Trans Shop no later than April 7, according to the report. Reese allegedly agreed to the terms and signed paperwork inside of Trans Shop in front of management agreeing to the terms.
On April 9, Trans Shop called police to report that Reese had not paid up, and they could not reach her by phone, police said. Trans Shop also called Reese’s attorney in an attempt to contact Reese, but the attorney was unable to reach her, according to authorities. Trans Shop management then wished to press charges, police said.
