Bucks250PA will host a milestone event, "Uncovered History: Bucks County," on Wednesday, June 25, at Pearl S. Buck International in Hilltown Township.
As the nation approaches the 250th anniversary of its founding, the evening will shine a spotlight on how culturally relevant interpretation is shaping historical storytelling in Bucks County.
The event will bring together local historians, cultural leaders, and invited guests for an engaging evening beginning with networking and refreshments at 5:30 p.m., followed by a panel discussion titled “Uncovering History – The Significance of Culturally Relevant Interpretation and Where to Experience It for the 250th in Bucks County.”
The panel will feature representatives from Pearl S. Buck International, Gather Place Museum, Pennsbury Manor, and the African American Museum of Bucks County, who will share insights on how their institutions are elevating often-overlooked narratives through programming and partnerships.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in a guided tour of the historic Pearl S. Buck House, a National Historic Landmark. The evening will conclude with the much-anticipated public launch of the new Bucks250PA website. The platform will serve as a comprehensive resource for Semiquincentennial news, event listings, educational materials, and community engagement opportunities.
As one of the county’s signature Semiquincentennial events, "Uncovered History" underscores Bucks250PA’s commitment to telling a fuller, more inclusive story of America’s founding. Through collaboration and innovative interpretation, Bucks County is poised to take a leading role in commemorating 250 years of independence.
