A Perkasie woman is facing multiple charges by Central Bucks Regional Police, including felony aggravated assault, after an altercation at a Doylestown bar escalated into violence against police.
Rebecca Barraclough, 38, was arrested June 1 following an incident at Chambers 19, at 19 N. Main Street in Doylestown Borough.
Police were called to the bar after reports of a disorderly patron who was allegedly physically fighting with employees and other patrons and refusing to leave the establishment.
Upon arrival, officers encountered Barraclough, who, police said, resisted efforts to remove her from the premises.
During the altercation, she allegedly grabbed one officer by the throat.
Barraclough was taken into custody and subsequently charged with misdemeanor simple assault, public drunkenness, and disorderly conduct involving fighting, in addition to the felony charge.
She was arraigned and released on $15,000 unsecured bail. A preliminary hearing is set for July 7 at 2:45 p.m. before Bucks County Magisterial District Judge Mark D. Douple.
All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
