A Bucks County man will be sentenced in October after pleading guilty to vehicular homicide while DUI and aggravated assault by vehicle while DUI for a crash in Nockamixon Township last October that killed a Towamencin Township father of three and Netherlands native.
Kyle T. Jesiolowski, 29, of Ottsville, also pleaded guilty to felony accidents involving death while unlicensed, misdemeanor drug possession, misdemeanor DUI of a controlled substance, and summary charges of failing to keep right and failure to drive in a single lane last week in Bucks County Common Pleas Court, per court documents.
He remains jailed on 10% of $300,000 cash bail since October 2, 2024.
Felony charges of homicide by vehicle, accidents involving death while unlicensed and aggravated assault by vehicle, as well as numerous DUI misdemeanor charges, were dismissed.
Pennsylvania State Police at Dublin said Jesiolowski was driving drunk with a suspended license when his pickup a Kia head-on, driven by Tjerk Jan Post, 55, on Oct. 7, 2023.
Police were dispatched to the 9200 block of Easton Road in Nockamixon Township at 2:10 p.m. for a report of a multi-vehicle crash. Arriving personnel located a 2018 Dodge Ram and a 2021 Kia Telluride with severe and disabling damage following a head-on crash.
According to the crash report, Jesiolowski was traveling southbound on Easton Road when he failed to maintain his lane, crossed over the double-yellow line, and struck the Kia, driven by Post, head-on.
Pennsylvania State Police were assisted at the scene by units from Palisades Regional Fire and Rescue, Saint Like’s Emergency Ambulance, Central Bucks EMS, Upper Bucks Regional EMS, Dewey Fire Company, and Swamp’s Towing.
A 51-year-old male passenger from Pipersville in Post’s car and Jesiolowski were taken to St. Luke’s University Hospital in Fountain Hill for treatment of injuries, per the report.
Post’s obituary painted the Renkum, Netherlands-native as a young lover of swimming and lifeguarding. He was close with his mom and brother, per the obituary.
He worked at Reser Inc. in Harleysville and in The Netherlands.
Post emigrated to the United States to attend Temple University for communications, where he played basketball for the Owls, making it to the Elite Eight of the 1990-91 NCAA Division I tournament.
“He enjoyed sharing his culture with his children and loved introducing them to foods he grew up with, making them his mom’s Dutch pancakes whenever he got the chance. If the Netherlands National Football Team was playing a match, they would all dress up in orange to cheer them on. And he’d often call his kids to update them on his favorite Formula 1 driver, Max Verstappen. Jan encouraged his children to work hard, be present, and appreciate what truly mattered in life - time with family and friends,” stated his obituary.
