A Hilltown Township repeat DUI offender accused of drunk driving an electric scooter involved in a crash pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor DUI of the fourth offense charges and awaits sentencing in October.
Adam William Davis, 36, of the 200 block of Washington Place, had a BAC of .092% when he was involved in a 2-vehicle crash in November 2024 at a Hilltown Township shopping center.
Five felony charges were dismissed against Davis in the negotiated guilty plea in Bucks County Common Pleas Court.
Davis also pleaded guilty to numerous summary offenses, including driving with a suspended license, driving without insurance, and driving an unregistered vehicle.
The charges stem from a Nov. 14, 2024 accident at 4:49 p.m. at County Line Road at the County Line Plaza throughway in Hilltown, Bucks County, in which Davis was driving a black and orange Kukirin G2 Max electric scooter, police said.
Upon arrival to the accident scene, which came in as a struck pedestrian call, police discovered the crash involved a scooter and a vehicle. Police said Davis was being medically treated at the scene.
Davis had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath, and police followed Davis via ambulance to Grand View Hospital, where he was admitted for treatment, police said.
Police asked Davis how much alcohol he consumed prior to driving, and he admitted to having “a couple shots.”
Davis refused a chemical test of his blood, according to a complaint. However, through a series of search warrants, police received blood results of Davis, which yielded a BAC of 0.09%, police said, and positive results for marijuana and buprenorphine.
Davis has three prior convictions for DUI, according to authorities.
All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
