The East Rockhill Board of Supervisors Tuesday, July 22 approved a conditional use adjudication for a new Perkasie Regional Authority (PRA) water filtration and treatment facility at 1010 Three Mile Run Road.

The proposal constitutes the third PRA treatment facility approved by the board in recent months, with construction currently underway for a treatment facility at 730 Three Mile Run Road and an additional facility planned for 1100 Branch Road.

The projects are aimed at bringing PRA wells into compliance with the new Environmental Protection Agency PFAS limit of four parts per trillion, originally set to take effect in 2029 but recently delayed until 2031 by the Trump administration. Over the past year, multiple PRA wells have shown PFAS levels well in excess of the EPA limit but within the current Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection limit of 18 parts per trillion.

Construction is anticipated after the completion of the 730 Three Mile Run Road facility in the fall.

Everleigh Woods housing development

The board authorized a development agreement for the Everleigh Woods housing development. Located at 809 Three Mile Run Road, the development will include 24 single-family homes starting at approximately $800,000. The move comes on the heels of a settlement agreement between the township and the developer following a dispute over the original proposal of 46 townhomes.

Construction is expected to take about two years to complete, with site work completion estimated by the end of the fall.

Park house lease

The board authorized a written lease of the Willard H. Markey Centennial Park house to Troop 79. The troop has utilized the park house for meetings and storage without a written lease for a number of years. The board noted that the troop members have consistently been “good tenants.”

The next East Rockhill Board of Supervisors meeting is on August 26 at 7 p.m. For more information, visit eastrockhilltownship.org
