R.C. Dog Care, a popular cage-free pet boarding facility in Warminster, has temporarily closed its doors amid community outrage and an active investigation into the deaths of two dogs in its care, according to reports.

In a statement posted Monday, the business announced it would cease operations "out of an abundance of caution and care," suspending all daycare and boarding services until further notice. The business said it would refund all prepayments and pledged to keep customers informed.

The closure comes days after Warminster Township Police confirmed the deaths of two dogs staying at the York Road facility, prompting a flood of concern across social media and inquiries into the company's practices, according to NBC10.

According to Pennsylvania Department of State records, R.C. Dog Care Inc. is a corporation based at 111 Pine Run Dr. in Holland, Bucks County, owned by Len Cloud and registered as a corporation since March 2006.

Facility under review following pet deaths

On July 25, R.C. Dog Care issued a separate public statement confirming the loss of the dogs and offering condolences to their families.

“We are devastated as caregivers, and we are committed to learning everything we can from what occurred,” the company wrote. “We are conducting a thorough internal review of all procedures, training protocols, and communications.”

The business also said it is consulting outside experts “to further enhance the safety and transparency” of its operations.

The exact circumstances surrounding the deaths remain unclear. However, Warminster Police told NBC10 Philadelphia that detectives are actively investigating the incident and have been in contact with the families of the deceased dogs. Police have not yet filed any criminal charges but confirmed that a report was made.

R.C. Dog Care is located at 355 Patricia Dr., a rented space in an industrial park in Bucks County. The business, which promotes itself as an off-leash, cage-free dog daycare and boarding center, has been serving local pet owners for several years. It is owned and operated by Robert Cmar and has a staff of handlers who work with dogs in small groups, according to its website.

The company’s online presence and social media accounts remain active, but some content has been limited or removed in the days following the incident.

R.C. Dog Care did not immediately respond to additional requests for comment.

Customers or community members looking to reach out to the facility can find contact information and further updates on their official site at rcdogcare.com
