Bucks County Playhouse announces auditions for 'We Are The Tigers: A Killer Musical Comedy'

High school students invited to audition for fall conservatory production at Lambertville Hall

  • Arts and Entertainment

Bucks County Playhouse is calling all high school performers to the stage for its upcoming fall conservatory production of "We Are The Tigers: A Killer Musical Comedy" — a sharp, darkly funny murder mystery set in the world of competitive high school cheerleading.

Presented by the Playhouse Institute Conservatory, this high-energy musical combines teen angst, team drama, and a killer twist in a fully staged production designed for serious young performers looking to level up.

Auditions for students entering grades nine through 12 will be held on Sunday, Aug. 10, from noon to 3 p.m., with callbacks scheduled for Monday, Aug. 11, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Rehearsals begin Aug. 17 and run through Oct. 16, with tech rehearsals scheduled for Oct. 19-23. Performances will take place at Lambertville Hall in Lambertville, NJ, with six shows running between Oct. 24 and Nov. 2.

Accepted students will be enrolled in the Fall Semester at the Playhouse Institute Conservatory, which includes over 60 hours of professional rehearsal time. Tuition is $1,400 and covers full access to a robust schedule of fall education classes, workshops, talkbacks, and enrichment activities tied to mainstage productions She Loves Me and The Rocky Horror Show. Students will also have opportunities to explore behind-the-scenes roles in scenic design, lighting, and costumes. Financial assistance is available and encouraged for those who need it.

To register for auditions or request materials, students should email [email protected].

Audition packets include sides, vocal selections, and full instructions. Headshots and résumés are requested.

About the show:

“We Are The Tigers”
Book, music, and lyrics by Preston Max Allen
Presented by special arrangement with Broadway Licensing Global.

The story centers around the Tigers cheer squad as they gather for their annual sleepover—only to have the night unravel into a suspense-filled, sharply comedic whodunnit. As secrets, rivalries, and TikTok scandals boil over, one Tiger winds up dead... and the squad finds themselves in the middle of a murder mystery no amount of team spirit can fix.

With a pop-rock score and a wicked sense of humor, We Are The Tigers is part Mean Girls, part Scream, and all high school drama.

Tickets will be available soon, with general admission priced at $25, and premium Splatter Zone seating (which includes a protective oversized T-shirt) available for $35. The show is rated PG-13 for language and content.
