Quakertown rallied from an early three-run deficit and pulled away late to defeat Doylestown, 9-5, and secure its second consecutive Bux-Mont American Legion tournament championship Tuesday night at Quakertown Memorial Park Stadium.
According to The Mercury, Jackson Gilman led the way for the Blue Jays, going 2-for-3 with three RBIs, including a leadoff double in the fifth that sparked the go-ahead run and a two-run double in the sixth that put the game out of reach. Gunner Rahn went 3-for-4, and Cooper Natisin added an RBI single in the sixth, per the report.
Quakertown now heads to the Region 2 tournament in Boyertown, where it will face Nazareth on Friday morning. Doylestown also advances and will play host Boyertown Friday night.
