St. Anne’s Ukrainian Catholic Church in Warrington has submitted a special exception request to install two ground-mounted solar arrays on its 3-acre property at 1545 Easton Road.
According to Bucks County Herald, the proposed panels would be no taller than 15 feet and comply with township zoning regulations, including required setbacks from property lines and roadways.
The church campus currently includes three buildings, one of which serves as the place of worship, per the report.
At a recent board meeting, discussion focused on inconsistencies between sketch plans, with some members under the impression the arrays would be located behind the church, while others saw plans placing them closer to Route 611, according to the article.
The board also raised concerns about long-term maintenance, stressing the importance of a formal decommissioning plan to guide the proper removal of the arrays in the future. The proposal will now head to the Warrington Township Zoning Hearing Board for additional review and possible approval.
