Bedminster Township Police now hiring for probationary officer position

Application deadline set for July 20; salary range starts at $65K with full benefits

The Bedminster Township Police Department in Bucks County is actively seeking qualified candidates for the position of probationary police officer, with applications open now through July 20.

Interested applicants must submit a letter of interest and resume by the deadline to Bedminster Township Interim Police Chief Nicholas Virnelson at [email protected]. Selected candidates will proceed to a background investigation and formal interview.

Applicants must be Act 120 certified or currently enrolled in an Act 120 program, be a U.S. citizen, and possess a valid driver’s license.

The department offers a competitive probationary salary ranging from $65,000 to $92,832, with the top patrol officer salary set to reach $112,491 in 2026. The benefits package includes medical coverage, paid sick, vacation and personal leave, holiday pay, education and longevity bonuses, 10-hour shifts, and enrollment in the Pennsylvania Municipal Retirement System (PMRS).
