The BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, a Hindu temple on Easton Road in Warrington, is seeking approval for a significant expansion that would add a 5,760-square-foot, two-story structure to its campus.
According to the Bucks County Herald, the proposed addition would include a gymnasium on the first floor and classrooms on the second, enhancing the temple’s community offerings.
The expansion would be constructed on the temple’s existing parking lot, reducing the number of available spaces from 101 to 67. While the parking lot is already considered nonconforming, the updated proposal would still require multiple zoning variances, including allowances related to impervious surface coverage, per the report.
Temple leaders say the additions would not alter the surrounding neighborhood’s character or negatively impact the community.
