Central Bucks Aquatics wraps up spring, prepares for busy fall season

The program is also actively recruiting lifeguards, swim lesson instructors and swim coaches

The Central Bucks Aquatics program is diving into summer with momentum, following a successful spring and an exciting update to its facilities at CB East.

Spring marked the conclusion of youth swim lessons and skill-building clinics, as well as the continuation of the USA Swimming team’s training. With about 125 competitive swimmers, the USA team has been preparing for summer meets after a strong fall/winter season that ended in March.

CB East’s pool recently received a visual upgrade with the addition of a new record board and a special dedication to longtime coaches Ed Walsh and Tom Kane.

Looking ahead, Central Bucks Aquatics is gearing up for a packed fall. Registration for fall group swim lessons — which start at age 3½ — opens July 21 and typically fills quickly. Private and adaptive swim lessons will also resume in October and run through May.

In addition to lessons, CB Aquatics will offer pre-team swim clinics in September, ideal for athletes seeking to strengthen their skills ahead of joining a team. Returning swim and dive team members for the CBST-SAL and CBST-USAS teams can register starting July 1, with an Aug. 14 deadline.

New member evaluations are ongoing throughout the summer, with deadlines varying by team. The diving team, part of the SAL league, will begin its next clinic in the spring, though new divers are encouraged to consider joining the team in the fall.

Beyond swim programs, CBSD facilities offer scuba diving lessons throughout the academic year through Underwater World and host lifesaving courses in the spring.

The program is also actively recruiting. Lifeguards, swim lesson instructors (ages 14 and up), and swim coaches of all experience levels are invited to apply. Instructor roles do not require teaching experience, but applicants must be confident swimmers who enjoy working with children.
