The Pennsylvania High School Softball Coaches Association released its 2025 All-State teams this week, and several local athletes earned statewide recognition for outstanding seasons on the diamond.
Representing the area’s top programs, players from North Penn, Souderton, Methacton, Pennridge, and Quakertown were all honored across various positions in the state’s highest classifications, according to The Reporter.
Class 6A Selections
North Penn saw two players earn all-state nods. Junior pitcher Felicia Connolly landed on the second team after leading the Knights to the District 1-6A championship game and posting a dominant semifinal performance. At third base, junior Tallie Smink was recognized on the first team, contributing clutch hits throughout the postseason, including back-to-back standout games in district and state playoff play.
Souderton placed two players on the list. Senior catcher Josi Tolentino, a first team selection, earned recognition for her powerful bat and consistent performance behind the plate. Freshman Kendal Nelson also impressed in her debut season, earning second team outfield honors after several strong showings, including a key late-season effort against Pennridge.
Methacton senior Jillian McTamney was one of the most prolific hitters in the state and earned a spot on the first team at third base. She notched multi-hit games in nearly every contest, finishing with an eye-popping .514 average.
Pennridge senior Averi Dockery was selected to the first team as a utility player after dominating both in the circle and at the plate. The Florida State commit struck out 80 batters with a sub-1.00 ERA while hitting .660 with 21 RBIs and 31 hits.
Quakertown senior Leah Schwalm, a standout catcher, earned a spot on the first team as well. A key offensive leader for the Panthers, she batted over .500 and drove in 26 runs on the season.
Other Area Recognitions
Additional local schools saw single athletes earn recognition. Central Bucks South’s Ella Wheeler made the first team in the outfield, and Plymouth Whitemarsh placed two on the list: Madison Moran at first base (second team) and Giavanna Bono at third base (second team).
In Class 5A, Upper Dublin’s Kyla Garrison was named to the second team as a pitcher, following a dominant junior campaign with over 180 strikeouts.
Class 4A selections included Springfield Township’s Ashley Shulz, a first team first baseman and league MVP, and Pope John Paul II’s Abby Simmers, a second team outfielder who capped her career with a rare milestone: 100 hits, 100 runs, and 100 stolen bases.
The selections were made from a pool of approximately 700 nominations from coaches and media statewide, highlighting the depth of talent across Pennsylvania—and especially in Montgomery and Bucks counties.
