With Independence Day approaching, Bucks County Sheriff Fred Harran is reminding residents about the “Making Old Glory New Again” program, which offers free flag replacements in exchange for old or worn American flags.

The program is hosted by the sheriff’s office, in partnership with Parx Casino, as a way to help residents properly honor fallen heroes by displaying well-maintained flags.

Residents can bring their old, tattered 3’x5′ American flags to select Bucks County Sheriff’s Office locations to receive a new one at no cost.

“Displaying a well-maintained American flag is a simple yet powerful way to show our respect and gratitude. Our partnership with Parx Casino allows us to help residents ensure their flags are a proper tribute to those we honor,” Harran said.

The program ensures that old flags collected are retired according to federal guidelines.

Flags can be exchanged during regular business hours at the following sheriff’s offices:

  • Doylestown: Bucks County Justice Center, 100 N. Main Street, Floor B2. Monday-Friday, 8:45 a.m. – 3:45 p.m.
  • Levittown: 7321 New Falls Road. Monday-Friday, 8:45 a.m. – 3:45 p.m.
  • Quakertown: 261 California Road. Wednesdays ONLY, 8:45 a.m. – 3:45 p.m.

The “Making Old Glory New Again” program gives a convenient way for residents to replace flags that are no longer suitable for display.
