On Monday, Jan. 20, PennDOT began construction on a bridge replacement on Route 113/Souderton Road over a branch of Mill Creek in the Bucks County municipality.
During the construction, Route 113 is closed between Bethlehem Pike and Diamond Street through late May.
Traffic is being detoured to alternative routes, including Diamond Street, Route 152/East Park Avenue, and Bethlehem Pike, according to PennDOT.
Trucks are being diverted to Route 152/East Walnut Street/East Park Avenue and Bethlehem Pike, in order to navigate around the closure.
The bridge work involves replacement of a 10-foot-long single-span concrete slab from 1922, which PennDOT said was in poor condition, with a longer single-span concrete box culvert. New guiderail, signage and pavement markings are also part of the project.
