A preliminary hearing for a Plumstead Township man accused of statutory sexual assault of a juvenile has been continued to March.
Fernando Santos Tzij-Noriega, aka Santos Tzub Alfaro, 24, was originally scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Monday before Magisterial District Judge Gary Gambardella, but it was continued to March 10 at 11:30 a.m., according to court records.
Tzij-Noriega’s bail was also reduced from 10% of $2.5 million cash to 10% of $1 million cash, according to court records. However, he remains incarcerated at Bucks County jail awaiting his hearing, confined ever since his preliminary arraignment on Nov. 22, 2024.
In addition to the statutory sexual assault by someone four to eight years older charge, Tzij-Noriega is also charged with felony corruption of minors from the July 1 incident in the township, per court records.
On Nov. 18, police received a report that Tzij-Noriega allegedly had sex with a juvenile female. He was taken into custody four days later without incident, police said.
All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
