A two-vehicle accident with rescue at Bethlehem Pike and Schoolhouse Road near the area of Fluid Energy Processing and Equipment Co., VMD Machine Co. and Sundae School sent at least one person to an area hospital Tuesday afternoon and disrupted traffic between E Central Avenue and East Reliance Road.

The accident occurred around 4:30 p.m. on the 4300 block of Bethlehem Pike in Hiltown Township and involved a tan Toyota Camry, which occupants needed rescue by emergency responders, and a silver Dodge minivan. The driver side and rear driver side doors were removed from the Toyota to rescue those trapped, per reports from the scene.

The minivan sustained heavy front-end damage and the Camry sustained heavy side damage, consistent with a T-bone collision.

All vehicles were moved off the roadway into the parking lot of Fluid Energy and VMD Machine Co.

Bethlehem Pike was closed at Schoolhouse Road in both directions.

Responding units included Perseverance Fire Co. of Souderton, Telford Fire Co., Hilltown Township Police, VMSC Emergency Medical Services and Chal-Brit EMS.
