Pennsylvania State Police out of Dublin said a 64-year-old man from Lehighton lost control of a 2006 International Motors MA025 box truck while negotiating a slight left curve on Route 309 southbound Thursday afternoon, sending the truck off the road into a ditch and trees and the driver to the hospital.
Police said the driver suffered unknown severity of injuries and was taken for medical evaluation to Grand View Hospital by Grand View Hospital paramedics for treatment.
The crash occurred at 1:43 p.m. on Route 309 aka South West End Boulevard southbound at mile marker 26.2 in West Rockhill Township, as the driver was in the right lane, police said. He lost control in the curve, left the roadway on the right side, hitting a ditch and crashing into trees, before coming to rest on private property, police said.
The truck was removed by Dunne’s Towing, police said. Trumbauersville Fire Co. provided assistance with road clearance and traffic control, police said. PennDOT also assisted with traffic control.
