Icy conditions send one vehicle off the roadway in New Britain Township Friday

Emergency personnel were called out the intersection of Limekiln Pike and Azlen Lane in New Britain Township just before 7 p.m. Friday for a report of a vehicle accident with entrapment.

Arriving crews encountered a light colored Ford pickup truck was off the roadway and laying on its side. Crews quickly determined all the occupants of the vehicle were out, and no rescue was needed. 

    

Fire personnel reported the road to be “a sheet of ice” in the area, per Bucks County Public Safety Dispatch. No injuries were reported at this time, and it is unknown what caused the accident. 

A portion of Limekiln Pike was closed in the area as crews worked to process the scene. 

Chalfont Fire Co. was assisted at the scene by Silverdale Fire Co., Hilltown Fire Co., Chal-Brit Emergency Medical Services, and New Britain Township Police.
