The Pennridge School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Jennifer Bloom as its new Director of Teaching, Learning, and Assessment.

Pennridge Superintendent, Angelo Berrios is excited about the vast qualifications that Dr. Bloom will bring to the Department of Teaching, Learning, and Assessment.

"I am excited to welcome Dr. Jennifer Bloom as our Director of Teaching, Learning, and Assessment. Dr. Bloom was selected from a competitive pool of 48 candidates. During the interview process, it was clear that her vision, academic pedigree, and substantive experience—which includes expertise in MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports) and other educational best practices—coupled with her commitment to academic rigor and student-centered learning, perfectly align with the mission of the Pennridge School District.”

“Furthermore, she has a proven track record of excellence and an impeccable reputation as a top-notch educational leader. I am confident that her leadership will drive innovation and student achievement. We are very excited for her to join the Pennridge team,” he said.

With a distinguished career in educational leadership, Dr. Bloom brings a passion for innovation, excellence, and student-centered learning that will further elevate Pennridge’s academic programs and instructional strategies. Dr. Bloom will replace Dr. Kathy Brewster-Scheid who is retiring after a very successful career in education leading the Pennridge School District Department of Teaching, Learning, and Assessment for many years.

Dr. Bloom joins Pennridge from the New Hope-Solebury School District, where she has served as the Principal of Lower Elementary School since 2017. In this role, she led initiatives in curriculum development, professional learning communities, and multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS), ensuring a strong foundation for student success. She has also been an advocate for brain-based learning strategies and designed The Kindergarten Academy, a transformative approach to balanced  kindergarten cohorts, in a full-day kindergarten setting.

"Education is about more than just teaching content—it’s about creating meaningful, engaging, and transformative learning experiences. Pennridge is a district that values excellence, embraces growth and is committed to preparing students for success in a changing world. I am excited to be part of a community that not only prioritizes academic achievement but also invests in its educators, celebrates student potential, and fosters a love of lifelong learning,” Bloom said.

“This role allows me to bring my experience in instructional leadership, assessment, and innovation to a district that is poised for progress. I’m excited to collaborate, support, and empower educators and students in achieving their fullest potential.”

Dr. Bloom’s vision for her new role is grounded in building relationships, fostering trust, and leading collaboratively. She believes that meaningful change begins with strong connections—listening, learning, and engaging with educators, students, and families.

By cultivating a culture of shared leadership, continuous learning, and innovation, she aims to ensure that every student benefits from an engaging and future-ready education.

Prior to becoming the Principal at Lower Elementary, Dr. Bloom served as the Assistant Principal of McDonald Elementary School in the Centennial School District from 2015-2017 and as an elementary teacher and Instructional Support Team leader at Groveland Elementary School in the Central Bucks School District from 2004-2015.

Dr. Bloom lives in Doylestown with her husband, Travis, and their daughter, Kendall, an eighth grader in the Central Bucks School District. As a family, they spend as much time at the beach as possible and love traveling together. Their home is filled with energy, thanks to their young-at-heart yellow lab, Finley. Dr. Bloom and her family are avid Eagles and Phillies fans, and she tries never to miss a Nittany Lions football game. She also finds great joy in watching Kendall compete in soccer and shine on stage in theater performances.

As she steps into this new role, Dr. Bloom is excited to build upon the strengths of the Pennridge School District, ensuring that every student has access to high-quality instruction, meaningful learning experiences, and the skills necessary to thrive in an ever-changing world.
