Tractor trailer hauling 24 tons of bagged mulch overturns on 611 North Friday afternoon

A tractor trailer hauling more than 45,000 pounds of packaged mulch overturned on the side of Route 611 North bypass in Plumstead Township Friday afternoon, and, aside from gaper delays, traffic continued on the roadway as normal.

The driver was able to extract themselves from the tractor cab and was safely out of the vehicle, per emergency radio traffic reports. The accident occurred around 2 p.m. past Swamp Road and north of North Easton Road, in a curve in the roadway near Central Bucks School of Gymnastics and Dance.

According to Bucks County emergency radio traffic, the tractor trailer was hauling 48,000 pounds of bagged mulch.

Plumstead Police, Plumsteadville Fire Co., Doylestown Fire Co. and Central Bucks EMS responded to the scene.
