Pedestrian injured, transported after being struck on Warrington road Tuesday night

A pedestrian was transported to Abington Memorial Hospital with injuries after being struck on the 400 block of Kansas Road Tuesday night in Warrington Township near the Penns Wood community.

The driver of the striking vehicle - a tan Nissan SUV - has remained on scene and is cooperating with authorities. 

Kansas Road was closed between Penns Wood Court and Garden Avenue following the 6 p.m. incident. 

The SUV sustained moderate damage and broken headlights on the passenger side.

The age, gender and condition of the injured is unknown Tuesday night. Emergency dispatch reports stated the pedestrian was "slightly moving" after being struck.

Warrington Police responded to the scene and EMS was provided by Warrington Community Ambulance Corps.
