Warminster Township declares disaster emergency ahead of Super Bowl Parade Friday

Ahead of the anticipated massive amount of public headed to the Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl Championship Parade Friday, Warminster Township has declared a disaster emergency, as of Friday at 12:01 a.m., and has a plan in place for the safety of individuals using the SEPTA Warminster Line.

The declaration allows the township to take measures for traffic safety and individual safety for those waiting to board the train to the city. It will remain in effect until 12:01 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15.

The Declaration states:

WHEREAS, the Philadelphia Eagles won Super Bowl LIX on February 9, 2025 and The City of Philadelphia will be holding an official Championship Parade for the Eagles on Friday, February 14, 2025; the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) has issued special instructions for its regional rail system for in bound and out bound trains to Philadelphia for the parade, including the Warminster Line and Warminster Line Station located at Jacksonville Road and Station Drive in the Township of Warminster,

 WHEREAS, this special event has or threatens to endanger the health, safety and welfare of a substantial number of persons residing in Warminster Township, and threatens to create problems that may exceed Warminster Township’s standard operations;

WHEREAS, emergency management measures are required to reduce the severity of this disaster to protect the health, safety and welfare of affected residents of Warminster Township;

 NOW, THEREFORE, pursuant to the provisions of Section 7501 of the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Services Code, (35 PA C.S., Section 7501), as amended, the existence of a disaster emergency is DECLARED, in and for Warminster Township.

FURTHER, the Warminster Township Emergency Management Director or his representative is directed to coordinate the activities of the emergency response, to take all appropriate action needed to alleviate the effects of this disaster, to aid in the restoration of essential public services, and to take any other emergency response action deemed necessary to respond to this declared emergency as authorized by the Warminster Township emergency operations plan.
