One half of a Burlington, New Jersey couple wanted for shoplifting more than $6,000 from the Warrington Ulta, twice, over a two-week period during the holiday season, was nabbed on a warrant in Atlantic County, New Jersey.
Janesha Edith Pickett, 34, was arrested and charged with felony retail theft and receiving stolen property, and associated conspiracy charges, by police, in two separate cases, according to court records. One set of charges is for an alleged theft on Dec. 9, 2024 and the second for Pickett’s alleged second shoplifting spree on Dec. 23, per court documents.
Pickett’s alleged accomplice in both theft cases – Darryl Alexander, 64 – is wanted by Warrington Police and believed to be in the Philadelphia area, after being released from New Jersey custody, police said.
Police responded to the 1561 N. Main St. beauty shop on both occasions for a reported theft in progress.
On Dec. 9, Pickett and Alexander allegedly concealed $3,412.91 worth of product and exited the store without paying. They left the scene prior to police arrival.
On Dec. 23, they were back again, this time allegedly concealing $3,083.74 worth of merchandise and exited the store again without paying, police said.
Officers were able to identify Pickett and issued two warrants for her arrest, police said.
She was eventually arrested on Dec. 23 in Atlantic County, New Jersey, and transported back to Pennsylvania, where she was arraigned Jan. 29, according to authorities.
Pickett was sent to Bucks County jail in lieu of 10% of $20,000 cash bail in both cases, according to court records. She has a preliminary hearing Feb. 10 at 9:30 a.m. before Magisterial District Judge Stacy Wertman.
According to court records, Pickett is awaiting a pre-trial hearing in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court on a felony retail theft and receiving stolen property charges from a May 2024 arrest in Montgomery Township for offenses committed in December 2023.
