Fred Beans Automotive Group met its year-end goal to sell vehicles for a good cause and is now donating $50,000 to fund about 100,000 meals in communities where Beans operates.

Starting Black Friday through the end of the year, Fred Beans donated a portion of each sale to this hunger-fighting effort. The automotive group also collected food to include in its donations.

Fred Beans Automotive Group is now distributing the funding and food to the following hunger-fighting organizations: the Bucks County Opportunity Council, the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank, the Flemington Area Food Pantry, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, the Salvation Army of Boyertown, the Salvation Army of West Chester, the Washington Community Food Pantry and Willow Grove Baptist Church Food Pantry.

“We launched our first meals challenge in 2020, tying our sales goals to fundraising goals with the intention of helping food pantries keep up with demand,” said Beth Beans Gilbert, vice president of Fred Beans Automotive Group. “As we have expanded our footprint, moving into the Abington area just this past year, we have partnered with additional food pantries to extend our impact. Our goal is always to make a difference in the community beyond selling cars, and these challenges are one way we can do that.” Beans recently presented the most significant funding donation of $25,000 to the Bucks County Opportunity Council. The automotive group has the largest concentration of dealerships in Bucks County and is headquartered in Doylestown.

“The Fred Beans Automotive Group has now contributed more than $200,000 to help us fight hunger in Bucks County,” said Joseph Cuozzo, director of development for the Bucks County Opportunity Council. “We rely on such dedicated partners to help us meet the needs of food insecure children, seniors and adults in our county.”
