SUPER BOWL LIX

WATCH: Bucks County law enforcement urge ride share, sober driving during Super Bowl weekend

Police patrols will be increased in municipalities across the county.

  • Public Safety

Bucks County law enforcement and justice division officials are reminding citizens to enjoy Super Bowl festivities responsibly and encourage the use of ride shares or a sober designated driver to get home.

Law enforcement in the county, including New Britain Township Police, Central Bucks Regional Police, Warminster Township, Bedminster Township, Perkasie Borough, and Doylestown Township police departments, will have increased patrols in the area over the weekend.

Police are asking Super Bowl hosts to be the MVP of their Eagles party and make sure guests make the right call and not drive impaired.

"The Eagles are back in the Super Bowl and we know everyone in Bucks County and the Philadelphia region wants to celebrate. But before you do, please have a game plan for watching responsibly," said the Bucks County District Attorney's Office.

The U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is teaming up with the PA DUI Association to remind football fans everywhere that Fans Don’t Let Fans Drive Drunk.

Super Bowl LIX will be played this Sunday, and there will be increased law enforcement patrols with the goal of keeping everyone safe by making sure they have a plan to get home safely.

Whether you are attending a party or going to a bar or restaurant, make a game plan and follow these simple tips from the Bucks County DA:

  • Remember it is never okay to drink and drive.
  • Designate a sober driver or plan to use a ride service, call a taxi, or a sober friend to get you home safely.
  • Be a responsible host and make sure none of your guests have had too much to drink.
  • If available, use your community’s sober ride program.
  • Enjoy the game, but most of all, be safe.

One more thing, "Fly Eagles Fly!"
