KeyBank is reaching a major milestone in 2025 — its 200th anniversary. To mark the occasion, the bank has kicked-off a year-long celebration.
Throughout the year, KeyBank will mark two centuries of service, with events planned across the company’s national footprint, which includes branch locations in Bucks, Chester and Montgomery counties.
KeyBank was founded in 1825 in Albany, New York.
“Our roots trace back to a time before electricity illuminated the night, before the automobile ruled the roadways, and before the telephone carried our voices across the continent,” Chris Gorman, KeyCorp chairman and CEO, said in a statement. “I look forward to celebrating our company’s rich history and showing that yesterday, today, and tomorrow, KeyBank will be here to help our clients, our colleagues, and our communities thrive.”
To launch the bicentennial celebration, the company this week unveiled a digital KeyBank Heritage Center. Visitors to the site can take an interactive look at KeyBank’s two centuries of history. The site highlights important milestones and events in the bank’s history.
In April, the company plans to unveil a Heritage Center at the company’s headquarters in Cleveland, Ohio. The museum will house interactive exhibits featuring artifacts and visual displays highlighting the bank’s history, according to a press release.
Additional details about KeyBank’s Bicentennial Celebration will be released throughout the year.
With assets of approximately $187 billion as of Dec. 31, KeyBank has 17,000 employees and provides deposit, lending, cash management, and investment services to individuals and businesses in 15 states through a network of approximately 1,000 branches and 1,200 ATMs.
