NOVA, Bucks County’s comprehensive crime victim services agency, recently hosted its annual Designer Bag Bingo at St. Anne’s Ukrainian Catholic Church in Warrington, raising a record-breaking $50,000 for the Bucks County Children’s Advocacy Center — the highest total in the event’s history.

With 325 people in attendance, more than three dozen designer bags were taken home by game and raffle winners, including a Louis Vuitton clutch donated by the Plumstead Township Police Benevolent Association, which was the biggest prize of the night.

Founded in 2008, the mission of the Children’s Advocacy Center is to protect the interests of children by facilitating a coordinated, child-centered response to child abuse reports and by promoting the rights and needs of at-risk and abused children.

“CAC’s Designer Bag Bingo was a smash hit,” said Penny Ettinger, Executive Director, NOVA. “The room was electric with the energy and passion of our incredible Children's Advocacy Center supporters and partners from Bucks County Children and Youth Services, Law Enforcement, and the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office. Thanks to them and to our sponsors, we were able to raise the funds needed for our critical CAC services.”

About Bucks County Children’s Advocacy Center

In 2008, NOVA, with the support of the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office, Bucks County Children and Youth, and all local police departments, founded the Bucks County Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC). The goal was to create a child-friendly environment where a dedicated team of professionals could collaboratively investigate allegations, conduct forensic interviews, assist in prosecuting offenders, and connect children and families to therapy and victim support, while prioritizing the child’s best interests.

Since then, the CAC has helped over 4,500 children, each with a unique story. For many, the CAC is the first place they can share their experiences without fear of judgment. The CAC relies on community support to continue offering a safe space for child abuse victims to be heard, where a compassionate and trauma-informed team provides care and assistance.
