Penn Community Bank, the largest independent mutual bank in eastern Pennsylvania, has once again been recognized as one of America’s Best Regional Bank’s & Credit Unions for 2026 by Newsweek and Plant-A Insights Group. This marks the third consecutive year the Bank has earned this distinction.

The annual ranking evaluates thousands of regional banks and credit unions across the United States, incorporating in-depth research, customer surveys, and millions of online reviews. The recognition highlights institutions that are committed to powering local economies by supporting small businesses, financing community projects, and providing reliable access to everyday banking services.

“This repeat recognition reflects the trust our customers place in us. At Penn Community Bank, we believe banking should be personal, reliable, and rooted in community. I’m incredibly proud of our team for consistently delivering an experience that earns that trust – year after year,” says Jeane M. Vidoni, president and CEO of Penn Community Bank.

More than 8,800 banks and credit unions were considered in the initial review – drawing on over 140,000 respondents and customer reviews that served as accounts for customer service, benefits, consistency, and more. Additionally, over 80 million social media and app store reviews were evaluated, providing a holistic view of performance across both physical locations and digital platforms. This comprehensive research has made this award one of the largest studies of its kind.

“More than financial service providers, credit unions are community partners, showing up in neighborhoods, participating in local initiatives and helping strengthen the connections that bind their members together. We hope this list helps you find the most trusted financial institutions in your area – whether you're planning your next business venture or taking your next step toward financial security,” says Jennifer H. Cunningham, Editor-in-Chief of Newsweek.

Penn Community Bank continues to demonstrate its commitment to advancing financial wellness across the region. Through innovative products, strategic investments, and a focus on relationship-driven service, the Bank remains dedicated to helping individuals, families, and businesses achieve greater financial security and opportunity.
