Warminster Township recognized the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America Local 167 for their pro bono work replacing the porch and ADA-accessible ramp at the Warminster Community Park WREC Building, home to the Parks and Recreation Department and the Warminster tax collector’s office.

The project was made possible through the coordination of Warminster Board of Supervisors Chair Ken Hayes, who connected the township Parks and Recreation Department with Carpenters Local 167, according to a news release.

Their skilled members donated their time, craftsmanship, and expertise to complete the much-needed improvements, ensuring safer and more accessible entry to the facility.

“The volunteer work at the WREC building is not the first improvement project local trade unions have assisted the Parks and Recreation Department with,” said Hayes. “Their contributions demonstrate the positive impact local skilled trades have on the quality of life for Warminster residents and visitors.”

In addition to this work, multiple local trade unions partnered with the township to repair Bank Shot Basketball backboards damaged in 2023, according to the release.

These repairs were completed at no cost to the community, thanks to contributions from Sheet Metal Workers Local Union No. 19 and International Union of Painters and Allied Trades District Council 21, the township said.

These trade unions stepped forward to restore specialized equipment, allowing residents to once again enjoy the unique and inclusive Bank Shot Basketball experience at Warminster Community Park.

Warminster Township extended its sincere appreciation to all participating unions for their dedication to community service and their commitment to improving public facilities.
