According to Dublin Borough Mayor Christopher Hayes, a 72-year-old woman was identified as the victim in the Saturday evening fatal car collision in Dublin Borough, according to an interview with WFMZ-TV.

The driver is cooperating with officials on the matter, according to the mayor.

"The driver of the vehicle is fully compliant with police and county officials and everything is being processed at this time," Hayes said in the interview.

Emergency crews responded to the fatal accident on Maple Avenue near the intersection of N. Main Street and Elephant Road around 5:05 p.m. Saturday.

"The vehicle was making a left hand turn on Maple Avenue, did not see the person that was crossing the street, made contact with that person and the person was unfortunately deceased," Hayes said in the interview.

According to initial reports, the driver allegedly hit the pedestrian with their car, turned around, and then ran over that person another time, causing a significant head injury.

Emergency crews from Dublin Fire Company, Dublin Borough Police Department, Hilltown Police Department, and Bedminster Police Department responded to the scene.
