From the 1929 Ford Model A to the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette, Perkasie’s 26th annual Under the Stars car show boasted nearly a century of iconic automobiles.

Thousands of attendees crowded downtown Perkasie Saturday, August 16 to view roughly 460 antique, classic and custom cars, including Corvettes, mustangs, convertibles, Camaros and more. The bulk of cars on display were vintage Chevrolets and Fords. Additionally, the show included a special “Cars from Afar” exhibit featuring automobiles from around the world, such as Porsches, MGs and Jaguars.

“We have such a wide variety,” said Perkasie Mayor Jeff Hollenbach. “There are trucks, vans, some old ’30s and ’40s cars and some super expensive Corvettes from 2023, 2024.”

Hollenbach awarded the coveted Perkasie Mayor’s award to Ron Kutt for his 1969 Chevy Chevelle. Kutt and wife Dana lost their 18-year-old son Jason Kutt in a hunting accident at Lake Nockamixon in October 2020. Since the tragedy, they started the Jason Kutt Legacy Foundation to honor their son’s memory and raise funds for local charities and schools.

As Jason was a car enthusiast, the family holds an annual car meet fundraiser to celebrate his life and memory.

“We decided to change a negative into a positive,” said Kutt. “We raise money and put it back into the local community.”

Other awards at the event included 50 dash placards and twelve sponsor trophies. The winners of the trophies were as follows:

Covered Bridge Car Wash – Phil Heller (1970 Mercury Cougar Eliminator)

Perkasie Towne Improvement Association – Ed Snyder (1964 Ford Falcon Sprint)

A&T Chevrolet Bruce Allen Memorial – Richard Bossert (1957 Chevy 150)

Perkasie Borough Council – Mike Czajkowski (1968 Mercury Cougar)

Rams Pint House & Rooftop Lounge – Joe Brandau (1955 Chevy 3100)

Perkasie Rotary Award – S. Kline (1974 Ford Bronco)

American Heritage Credit Union – L. Watt (1977 Pontiac Trans Am – Bandit Edition)

Joe Davis Autosport – David Bartram (1967 Ford Mustang)

Community at Rockhill – John Westenberger (1967 Ford Mustang)

Grandview Service Center – Steve Romeo (1973 Chevy Vega)

QNB Bank – Walt Conway (1967 Chevy Nova II)

Penn Community Bank – H. Buggins (Bill Hall) (1965 Volkswagen Beetle)

“The Perkasie Under the Stars Car Show was a huge success this year,” said Scott Bomboy, a borough council member who volunteers at the show by helping to guide cars into town. “This only happens with a great effort from borough staff, many local volunteers, and a car show community that really loves Perkasie. It is just a perfect spot for a car show.”
