New Britain Township Police promote veteran, welcome new officer

Officer Brian Jones promoted to sergeant; Thomas Ford joins from Richland Township

  • Public Safety

New Britain Township Police marked two significant personnel changes at the July 21 Board of Supervisors meeting, with one longtime officer promoted to sergeant and a new officer sworn in.

Officer Brian Jones, a 15-year veteran of the department, was promoted to the rank of sergeant. He will serve as a patrol sergeant, filling the vacancy left by the recent retirement of Sgt. C. Rich Michie.

The department also welcomed Officer Thomas Ford as its newest member. Ford, a native of Bucks County, brings two years of policing experience from Richland Township. Officials said he looks forward to serving residents and visitors of New Britain Township.
